Gave a fun talk for Lancaster AI on Apple’s purchases of XNOR.ai in January of 2020 for $200M and why it matters to the larger world of AI, and specifically to companies like Sugey in creating new forms of edge devices and implementations.
XNOR created over 32x memory efficient networks and 58x the performance! Yeah, there’s a reason that matters and it’s not for better data centers to hold your data!
I truly believe what we are doing at Sugey is completely tied into the way Apple is pursuing AI, and it’s a strategy worth following. Only time will tell if I’m right, but this is a good bet to make with Apple behind it.
