Legs and back day. This is always time to do a gut check on the pull-ups. Let’s just say I more than doubled by pull up totals from my fitness test 19 days ago. Today was also the first day I finished every sit-up in Ab Ripper X! 339 situps!!Suffice it to say, I was jacked about finishing the Ab Ripper X for the first time ever. Yeh, it was modified, but I didn’t take any breaks and I did them all. Now, I can work more on pushing the modifications. Plus, I now know I can do it, a huge incentive.

As for pull-ups, I was able to actually do 8 today, which is more than the 3.5 I tested at during the fitness test. I know I’m nowhere where I need to be, but all I’ve seen is a steady increase. I don’t see why I won’t be pounding out 20 with no sweat in 60 more days.

Breakfast was 8 oz 1% cottage cheese, banana, snack Nutrilite Protein Bar, lunch Baja Salad with no cheese, snack smoked oysters, dinner chicken with some worcestor sauce, vegetables, and thai squash soup. Creatine before and after workout, nutrilite whey after.

My favorite day of the week: Yoga day. Well, I didn’t get in this evening until 12 am because of an autism award dinner for a family in the documentary I’m producing, so it was a late start. Still, with the lights off and some candles, I can dig the relaxation.Breakfast today was 8 oz 1% cottage cheese and a banana, snack protein bar and chobani yogurt, lunch baja salad with no cheese, snack dannon low fat yogurt, dinner 10 oz fish, walnut salad, and a snazzy little creme dessert at the ceremony. Creatine before and creatine after the Yoga, but no whey.

So the toe got a little better for shoulders and arms day. The other great thing is that I got to try some new dumb bells and I’m already feeling a better workout.I got the dumb bells in 10, 20, and 25 pound pairs. I usually use the 25′s, but there’s a lot of exercises that only use 10. All in all, it was a great purchase.

Breakfast was omelette and honeydew, chobani yogurt, Nutrilite protein bar for snack, lunch mango smoothie with whey and light pastrami sandwich with only half bread, and dinner was fish and rice. Not a bad day. Made sure to have creatine before, nutrilite why after, and creatine after.

Now we’re starting to get somewhere! Today was Chest and Back, and all the reps went up. Heck, I even ALMOST finished a modified Ab Ripper X. Getting there!Every set except 3 I had an increase in reps for the chest exercise, which is great. The pull-ups are tougher still. I’ve had to use the chair a lot on certain ones. However, I’m still going for the reps, just so I can increase over time. My body doesn’t know I’m cheating, it just knows it’s still working a bunch. Don’t let an ego get in the way of results.

Breakfast – Mango smoothie with 2 shots of whey, lunch mushroom omelette, snack- chobani yogurt, dinner 12 oz salmon and pacific fried rice. Trying to make up for last night I guess.

Creatine before and after, and nutrilite whey after.

I’m getting kind of psyched about this Kenpo thing! What a great workout. And let’s face it, who doesn’t like a little martial arts practice once in awhile? At least it’s better then the last Karate Kid remake. Good actors, horrible story…Who’s going to believe that a pre-pubescent 10 or 11 year old boy has the capacity to actually understand what is going on for starters. Second, what’s he afraid of? Getting a little picked on and having his feelings hurt? Hell, Danielson was going to be KILLED by the other gang. It’s not Will Smith’s kid’s fault, he was just put in an unbelievable role which is what killed the movie.

Anyway, Kenpo is awesome. Finding that if I pretend I’m actually in a fight and not exercising, I can raise the intensity level where it needs to be. I’m almost up to 70% max in less than 2 weeks, so that’s good. My heart has always been strong or some reason.

Diet today was breakfast- 4 hard boiled eggs without egg yolks, banana, chobani yogurt, lunch baja salad without cheese, snack of chobani yogurt and nutrilite protein bar, dinner 10 oz wild flounder, rice and beans. Nutrilite whey after working out, and creatine before and after workout.

Today was a legs, shoulders, and Ab Ripper X. I learned a valuable lesson today about helping yourself with the ab work. Here's 3 tips.

Today was a legs, shoulders, and Ab Ripper X. I learned a valuable lesson today about helping yourself with the ab work. Hands are the key.I still have yet to finish the 339 ab exercises in one P90X Ab Ripper X program. The problem is my back kills me before I feel the burn in my abs. Especially since I do it right after an hour long program, I just don’t have the proper form I guess or my lower back is too weak. I’ve struggled through it the last 5 or 6 times, but I’m not moving fast enough. So here are some tips I figured out:

For the bicycles, lie down on your back, lift your shoulders of the ground like you’re doing a crunch, and squeeze your ab muscles while you do it. VERY easy on your back and you’ll get that burn.

When doing a scissors or legs straight into the air, put your hands under you butt to take the strain off of your lower back. But hey, you can still feel it in your abs.

Take your shoes off. Seriously, the 2 pounds adds up after a couple hundred reps!

I hope that list helps anyone out there. Just remember that you’re starting from where you are, not Tony. Do what you can, keep the best form, and improve yourself every week. Maybe in a little bit, I’ll put my shoes back on once I finish all 339 moves the first time to make it harder. Than straighten my back more once I do it all with my shoes. Then take my hands from under my butt when I do it with a straight back and my shoes. Building, building.

Breakfast – omelette, honeydew, snack chobani yogurt, lunch BLT Cobb Salad from Wendys, snack chobani yogurt and nutrilite protein bar, dinner chicken and rice and beans. nutrilite whey protein after working out and creatine before and after working out.

Today was another Yoga day, and I got to say I almost quit half way through because it bored me to tears having to do the same base poses for half an hour. Glad I stuck with it through the end for the balance and stretching though. The half moon is about half ass crazy too. The toughest part about these poses at the beginning is there is no explanation really and you just have to kind of figure it out. They don’t stop for you to pick them up at all. I guess it will be good when I’m more versed in Yoga, but right now it sucks. Enjoyed the stretches and balance though at the end. I tried to take my wife’s advice and relax for Yoga, so that’s the plan.

Breakfast was an omelette and chobani strawberry yogurt, Ntrilite protein bar snack, baja salad full with no cheese and only half the dressing, chicken and rice and beans for dinner. I’m still missing a fruit so I might grab some now. Nutrilite whey after and creatine before and after. Another day down.

Today was a shoulders and arms day. At this point, I’d really like to get some good dumb bells. Anybody out there know of any good deals? Ab Ripper X is another story. It’s getting really hard to do all of these exercises holding free weights. For most of these, you can’t get the full range of motion with the bands either. Not sure what to do until I make some more money I guess.

The Ab Ripper X is killing my lower back way before my abs feel it. I went on the BeachBody.com website to check out the forums and luckily I’m not the only person who has experienced this. Comes from weak lower back muscles, and I’ll need to add some extra support while I work on my abs.

Thankfully, tomorrow is Yoga, so I’m ready for that second go around. Ate mushroom omelette, chobani yogurt and honeydew for breakfast, Nutrilite protein bar for snack, 12 pieces of sushi for lunch, and a small yucca for dinner with chicken. Nutrilite whey after the workout and creatine before and after workout.
